LeakyCon 2014 Signing & Photo Booth Procedures

LeakyCon is one of very few conferences that offers autograph sessions at no additional cost; however, registration for LeakyCon does not guarantee you access to any autograph session. In an effort to eliminate waiting time and run the signings at LeakyCon 2014 efficiently, we have borrowed a procedure from one of the only other conferences to offer free signatures, San Diego Comic-Con.

Please note that LeakyCon Lit signings are only open to those LeakyCon guests who have a pass for that track.  Rock signings will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.  If you have a RockStar pass, then the following only concerns you if you would like to enter the drawing for an additional signing pass over and above that which comes with your registration.

Access to all autograph sessions will be granted via drawings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Attendance at this drawing is the only way to assure your spot in the signing, unless you are a RockStar (see above).

Raffle drawings are for autograph sessions only and will take place at 8 a.m. in Room 109 on the same day as the session in question. Photo booth sessions are open to all attendees on a first come, first served basis and will proceed as detailed below. Photo booth sessions do not require a wristband. Autograph and photo booth sessions will take place in the LeakyCon Marketplace (Exhibit Hall WA1).

So here’s how it works:

Drawing Procedure (Signings)

  1. Please line up in Room 109 at the time listed above to enter the drawing for the signing wristband you wish to have.  There will be multiple lines, each marked with the wristband you may obtain.

  2. There will be a volunteer at the front of each line with a bag of tickets.

  3. When you reach the front of the line, you will pull a ticket out of the bag.

  4. If you pull out a winning ticket, then you have gained access to the signing. You will be directed to a second volunteer who will present you with the wristband necessary for entry to that signing, and should reconvene in the LeakyCon Marketplace (Exhibit Hall WA1) at the time of the signing.

  5. If you pull a non-winning ticket, then you have not gained access to that signing, You may try again the next day, or, if you wish, you may return to the end of the line.

The bags will contain the correct number of tickets to assure that all of the signings are full and that, to the best of our ability to judge, no one will wait in line unnecessarily.

All of the drawings for the day’s signings will take place at the same time. When you arrive for the drawing, you should choose the signing session you are most interested in and stand in that line first. Once you have drawn for that signing, you may stand another line, if you like. This should be a fast process so don’t worry about making it through multiple lines!

Ok, so you have your wristband... what next?

Signing Procedure

  1. If you won a wristband at the morning lottery, please line up in the signing area at the allotted signing time. There is no need to line up early. Everyone who receives a wristband will be granted access to the appropriate signing. However, it is recommended that you line up closer to the beginning of the signing rather than closer to the end.  The signing will end at its appointed time, and we need to move things along - we know you’re ready to go to your next bit of programming, so we don’t want to hold you up!

  2. You may only have one item signed at each signing. You may not bring in items for your friends who didn’t get wristbands. One person - one item. This is the only way we can get things going with the speed they need to be respectful to everyone.

  3. After you get your items signed, please leave the signing area promptly.

  4. You may not take photographs or videos of yourself with our special guests, or engage in any other activity that will hold up the lines. If you do so, then your pass may be revoked.

Photo Booth Procedure

  1. Admittance to the Photo Booth is done on a first come, first served basis. Please line up in the photo booth area at the allotted photo booth time. Individuals lining up ahead of the photo booth time will be turned away.

  2. You will be called up individually or in a small group to pose with our special guests. One photo will be taken by our photo booth photographer.

  3. Once your photo has been taken, please leave the photo booth area promptly.

  4. Photos will be released via the LeakyCon Facebook page following LeakyCon 2014. Please make sure to follow us on Facebook to find your photo.

Please remember that there will be a lot of LeakyCon guests at each signing and photo booth session. Respect your fellow fans - they are just as excited as you are!

We want to allow as many guests to attend each signing as possible, but in order to do so, we need your help. We need your patience, your calm, and your awesome attitude. Thank you so much for your cooperation!
